Jacq Jansen

I am Jacq Jansen, a Dutch citizen living in Karimunjawa, Indonesia. I chose to make Karimunjawa my home because of its exceptionally dark night skies, which remain largely free from light pollution—an essential condition for my lifelong passion for astronomy.

My interest in astronomy began at a young age, and in 2018 I fulfilled a long-held dream by establishing my own observatory in Karimunjawa. I particularly enjoy capturing and processing images of nebulae, galaxies, open star clusters, and, on occasion, meteors.

Astronomy is more than just a hobby; it is one of the greatest passions of my life. From the Roll-Off Observatory at Deepsky Villa, I photograph and preserve the beauty of the universe, sharing its extraordinary wonders through astrophotography.
